With close to 1.8 billion people playing gaming apps worldwide, the mobile gaming industry continues growing with no signs of stopping any time soon. Each month, the world’s most popular mobile games bring hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, and here are the titles that top the Google Play chart.
According to data presented by Mejores Apuestas, Coin Master, Candy Crash Saga, and Garena Free Fire-Rampage top the list of the highest-grossing Android games with nearly $250 million in monthly revenue, or 200% more than the leading App Store gaming titles.
Coin Master Leads with $118M in Monthly Revenue, Close to Other Two Top-Grossing Android Games Combined
The Statista and Airnow data showed Coin Master was the top-grossing Google Play game in July. Thanks to in-app purchases and microtransactions, the popular Moon Active’s game generated around $118 million in revenue that month, or close to the other two top-grossing games combined.
With nearly $67 million in monthly revenue, Candy Crush Saga ranked as the second highest-grossing Google Play game. The multiplayer battle royale mobile game Garena Free Fire- Rampage rounds the top three list, with $62.5 million generated from Android users that month. Genshin Impact and Roblox follow, with $39.2 million and $37.3 million in revenue, respectively.
The Airnow data also revealed considerable differences in earnings between the Android and iOS gaming apps. In July, Uma Musume Pretty Derby was the top-grossing gaming app for iPhone worldwide. The manga-based gaming title generated around $31 million in revenue from iPhone users, or 73% less than the highest-grossing Google Play game that month. Pokémon GO was the second title with $29.1 million in revenue during that month. Roblox followed, with $24.3 million in revenue generated from iPhone users.
Statistics show the top three iOS gaming apps hit close to $85 million in combined monthly revenue or 30% less than Coin Master as the top-grossing Google Play game in July.
Pop it Fidget Mobile Games Top the Android and iOS Downloads Chart
The Airnow data showed that pop-it fidget mobile games topped the downloads chart in July among Android and iPhone users.
Trading Master 3D – Fidget Pop was the most downloaded gaming app in the Google Play Store worldwide that month. The fidget toy trading title hit more than 22 million downloads from Android users. Statistics show My Talking Angela 2 was the second-most popular gaming app with 20.7 million downloads from global Android users. Count Masters: Crowd Clash & Stickman Running Game followed, with close to 18.5 million downloads.
The iOS gaming apps ranking showed Fidget Trading 3D: Fidget Toys was the most downloaded mobile game for iPhone. The casual title generated close to 6.2 million downloads from iPhone users in July. Count Masters: Crowd Runner 3D and Trading Master 3D – Fidget Pop followed, with 5 and 4 million downloads from the global iPhone gaming audience, respectively.
